The book "R' Moshe Rivkas" by Benyamin Rivlin (Jerusalem 1971), asserts that Telza, mother of R' Moshe Rivkas, was
a descendant of Saul Wahl.
| |
In what might appear to be the same paragraph, R' Moshe Rivkas is quoted from
his introduction to his work "Be'er Ha'gola" on "Shulchan Aruch" (Amsterdam 1661), as follows:
| |
| |
In the first 5 lines above, R' Moshe Rivkas tells about his father, R' Naphtali Hirsh Sofer.
| |
The last three lines, which refer to Telza, R' Naphtali Hirsh Sofer's wife, are in fact Benyamin Rivlin's own words, without attribution to any source. They are not part of the quote from R' Moshe Rivkas.

The excerpt below is from the introduction to "Beer HaGola", printed in a recent edition of "Shulchan Aruch".
| |
It contains the paragraph quoted by Rivlin, beginning with   יצק מים ושימש"
The lines about Telza are not there.

Furthermore, "Sefer HaYachas LeMishpachat Rivlin" by Eliezer Rivlin (1940),
lists the lineage of R. Moshe Rivkas, his father R. Naphtali Hirsh, and his father R. Petachia. But, there is no mention of Telza or any link to Saul Wahl.
